Sharing Love with the Elderly at Kelahiran Santa Perawan Maria Catholic Church Mei 11, 2026

Surabaya, 13 December 2019: Management- and Accounting-major Students of IEU School of Economics (hereinafter “STIE IEU”) Surabaya held community service at the Catholic Church “Kelahiran Santa Perawan Maria” Surabaya on Friday, 13 December 2019.

The event was themed “Building a Warm Togetherness with Resilient Seniors.” Prior to this event, the Student Council (hereinafter “the stuco”) of STIE IEU initiated a fundraising activity within the vicinity of STIE IEU Surabaya (donations come from the lecturers, staff, and the stuco members). The donations are then allocated for charity funds, preparing meals, gifts & giveaways, and other necessities.

The Chief of LPPM division in STIE IEU, Christine Wahyuniwati Wahyudi, MBA., and several IEU lecturers attended the event personally. The reps of STIE IEU was greeted with a warm welcome, courtesy by the officials of the orphanage. STIE IEU reps also had the chance of interacting and mingling with the elder people who participated in the Community Service activity.

Next, a joint gymnastic session was in order. The elders followed the coaching of Mr. Charles, one of the visiting lecturers, with the support of stuco members. This was followed with an opportunity for the participating grandmas and grandpas to share their personal stories with everyone. The whole event was concluded with a lunch session where the elders could enjoy the meals prepared by STIE IEU reps.

“Overall, the event progressed smoothly from the beginning to the end. Everything went accordingly, as per our initial expectation of this community service agenda,” remarked The Chief of LPPM, Christine Wahyuniwati Wahyudi, MBA.
