STIE IEU Webinar Highlights How Generation Z Will Transform the Business World Mei 11, 2026
“Generation Z Changes the Business World” is a Webinar that was conducted on Friday, 25th September 2020 by STIE IEU Surabaya with the theme “How Generation Z Will Change the Business World?” The speaker of this Webinar was IEU Board Chairman, Dr. Patrick Khor. Before the Webinar began, there was a brief introduction from Mr. Edward Angstrong, PhD to the participants. This webinar was officially opened by Rector of STIE IEU Surabaya, Dr. Oscarius Yudhi Ari Wijaya, MH., MM., CLI. The participants of this webinar are the lecturers, staffs and also the undergraduate and post graduate students of STIE IEU Surabaya.
In his opening speech, Rector of STIE IEU Surabaya, Dr. Oscarius Y. A. Wijaya, MH., MM., CLI said that right now the young generations, especially generation Z facing the some challenges in building business in the world. One of the challenges is how generation Z changes the business into digital platform. It could be hard and it could be easy. For the ones that have supporting facilities, it could be easy. Otherwise, it could be hard for the ones that have no supporting facilities. He also said that many Z generations right now are already using digital platform like, Tik-Tok App, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. They are familiar with these applications. However, mostly Z generations were not able using those applications for business interest. Frankly, by having capability in using those applications, they are able to build their digital business. They can change their business from manual into online market or digital market. That means they are encouraged to be creative.
In the same opportunity, IEU Board Chairman, Dr. Patrick Khor conveyed his materials presentation about How Generation Z Will Change the Business World. The speaker of this Webinar was IEU Board Chairman, Dr. Patrick Khor. He said that this theme was pivotal to be discussed. Why is it important? It is because the world is facing crisis right now. He said that the world is facing crisis and uncertainty right now. The world is facing global recession 2019-2020. And it might be happening in the upcoming days. Many businesses in the world are bankrupt due to Corona virus pandemic. This is an inevitable disaster. The crisis may come from Asia, East, and West. However, in this difficult situation, there is an opportunity. He called it Golden opportunity for the Z generation. This Golden opportunity must be used by Z generations well. The Z generations must use this Golden opportunity wisely.
He also said that Digital-Connected Generation Z is openness, freedom, collaboration, innovation, fun, and integrity. So, the students of STIE IEU Surabaya must be able to come with their ideas to create something. Something that is important and beneficial for his or her future and other people. Before ending his presentation, Dr. Patrick Khor also said that IEU wants to build the new generations of Indonesia. (Surabaya, 25th September 2020).
